The rising of the phoenix
Kite Runner… a reflection

Today, i finally got around to watching the movie Kite Runner, based on the book with a same title by Khaled Hosseini. I was not into it at the begnning, but then storyline started to capture my attention: the friendship of two little boys, the cowardness of Amir, the bravery of Hassan, and the difference between those two…

The movie opens with a scene when Hamir receives a phone call from a long-known friend……

And the phone call brings him back to memories: memories of growing up in the land of Afgan, of being friends with a servant family’s boy, of flying kite…

The movie took a turn when Hassann and his family decided to leave, and Russia invaded Afgan, then Amir and his dad had to flee the land to America.

Here, he grew up, had a degree, being a writer, and he would probably forget about his childhood in Afgan, until he got that phone call..:)

And from that phone call, he once again, will have to face his childhood, part of him which he been trying to forget…

The movie is like a car ride… it takes you through different level of emotion… It is kinda like a roller coaster.. start off a little slow, a little smooth… and i was not into it.. until it reach to the high peek.. and then your emotion got turn around and around..:)
